Cult Cinema Sunday – Clerks – Fruit- January 17th

Our partner night Cult Cinema Sunday return to FRüIT on January 17th, with the Kevin Smith ’90s indie comedy classic Clerks.

Chronicling a day in the life of quick stop clerk Dante Hicks, ‘Clerks’ captures the hilarity of the humdrum even as it raises slackerdom to existential proportions. This is a day Dante will never forget.

His day rudely begins at 6am, when he discovers that he has to work on his day off: a hilarious day in which he has to survive his girlfriend’s graphic sexual confessions, a mad hockey team and a constant stream of offensive customers.

From behind his counter, Dante desperately tries to exert some power over the crazy customers, his own love life, and his incorrigible friend and fellow clerk Randal, the type who sees nothing wrong in closing the video shop he works in to go rent movies from a better store.

Cult Cinema Sunday is Fruit’s monthly night of cool cult & genre film, and includes a free film quiz, custom made movie poster print sale, prize raffle, craft beers at the bar and Thieving Harry’s Cafe food.

Tickets for the screening are £4 in advance (with free popcorn) on sale from Hull Box Office.
