In post-World War II Denmark, a group of young German POWs are forced to clear a beach of thousands of land mines under the watch of a Danish Sergeant who slowly learns to appreciate their plight

As World War II comes to an end, a group of German POWs – boys rather than men – are captured by the Danish army and forced to engage in a deadly task: to defuse and clear land mines from the Danish coastline. With little or no training, the boys soon discover that the war is far from over

Inspired by real events, LAND OF MINE exposes the untold story of one tragic moment in Denmark’s history, written and directed by Martin Zandvliet

Nominated Best Foreign Language Film, 2017 Academy Awards
Toronto International Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam Official Selections

“Both grimly naturalistic and infused with classical values at their most thoughtfully composed, LAND OF MINE is epic but deeply intimate; elegant but tough.” – Washington Post

“Zandvliet has crafted a handsome, affecting and questioning film about post-war revenge and forgiveness. On a tough field to navigate, he makes it to the other side, commendably.” – Globe and Mail
