A young woman confronts a middle aged man, looking for answers about their abusive relationship which occurred when she was thirteen years old

Based on David Harrower’s celebrated, Olivier Award-winning play Blackbird, Benedict Andrews’ UNA follows a young woman’s journey to reclaim her past. Fifteen years earlier, Una ran away with an older man, Ray, a crime for which he was arrested and imprisoned. When she comes across a photo of him in a trade magazine, Una tracks him down to his workplace, and her abrupt arrival threatens to destroy Ray’s new life, while derailing her precarious stability. Unspoken secrets and buried memories surface as Una and Ray sift through the wreckage of the past, confronting unanswered questions and unresolved longings; ultimately shaking them both to the core. UNA gazes into the heart of devastation and asks if redemption is possible

“At times, it is so shockingly intense that it has the power to rip to tatters in an instant as it rattles with frayed nerves, hairline cracks that gradually expand under the pressure until they finally shatter.” – Little White Lies

“The film has a different though no less riveting intensity, thanks to Rooney Mara’s emotionally naked performance in the title role, and unflinching support from Ben Mendelsohn.” – Hollywood Reporter
