Los Angeles, 2017: America has become a police state and its citizens are mollified with a steady diet of violent television shows. The most popular one is ‘The Running Man’ where convicts try to survive an invariably lethal obstacle course. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a prison escapee and sometimes freedom fighter who, recaptured, finds himself running for his life on the show.

Cult Cinema Sunday: Putting the Cult in the City of Culture. The original, challenging and just plain cool from the world of cult & genre film – life’s too short for bad movies. The night has the perfect mix of Thieving Harry’s food, craft beers, free film quiz, prize raffle, and custom made alternative movie posters. Check out our range of alt movie posters for sale.

THE RUNNING MAN is rated 18. Visit the BBFC website for full details (may include plot spoilers).

“It’s an arcade-game romp done with flair.” – Film4

“The fun of the movie is really in its premise, its cool confrontations between Arny & villains, the cheesy one-liners and Maria Conchita-Alonso in tights!” – JoBlo, JoBlo’s Movie Emporium

“Holds up a shocking reflection of where we actually stand as a society in 2017.” – Felix Vasquez Jr., Cinema Crazed
