HIC / Film Hub North / Humber Film: NORTHERN EXPOSURE
13/11/2019 @ 12:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree – £2.50
At Hull School of Art and Design, Hull College: BUY TICKETS.
Film Hub North and BFI NETWORK are bringing their regular short film event NORTHERN EXPOSURE to Hull in a new partnership with Hull Independent Cinema and Humber Film. It will be a day of short films, lively discussion, network and advice, with something for everyone whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or just interested in watching some innovative, thought-provoking short films.
Expert advice surgeries will take place during the day, followed by Humber Film Forum in the early evening before the NORTHERN EXPOSURE film screening. All parts of the event will take place at Hull School of Art and Design’s brilliant new auditorium and meeting rooms – many thanks to the team at Hull College for making these facilities available.
This event is a pilot project supported by Film Hub North which we hope will become a regular feature, so please come and give it your support!
12.00pm-4.00pm: Surgery sessions for local filmmakers with the experts from BFI Network.
Free of charge, book a time in advance by emailing Roxy McKenna at Film Hub North / BFI Network. Unfortunately, surgery sessions are now fully booked. You are still welcome to attend the Forum meeting or buy a ticket for the screening and subsequent networking session.
5.30pm: Humber Film Forum. Humber Film is a community of filmmakers and associated disciplines who aim to develop and encourage film making in the region. A chance for local filmmakers to get together and share ideas, advice, contacts and experience, and discuss new projects. Free of charge, just turn up.
7.00pm: NORTHERN EXPOSURE. An hour of short films from around the North, curated by Film Hub North. Tickets £2.50, open to all.
8.00pm onwards: Informal networking. An opportunity for conversations between BFI Network experts, HIC team members, local filmmakers and audiences.
Submit your film
To submit a film for consideration as part of the NORTHERN EXPOSURE programme, visit the BFI NETWORK Postroom site, open an account and upload your files. Then email Roxy McKenna to let her know that you have made a submission, including your contact details and the name(s) of the film(s).
NORTHERN EXPOSURE runs in several venues across the region, so your film may be seen more widely, and could even get selected as Best of the Postroom quarterly pick!
Tickets terms and conditions
If any tickets remain unsold they can be purchased on the door on the night of the screening, but we strongly advise buying in advance. Advance tickets must be purchased; we cannot reserve tickets. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
