The European Film Academy’s Short Matters tour is a brilliant panorama of young contemporary European filmmaking. The short film initiative is organised in co-operation with a series of film festivals throughout Europe. At each of these festivals an independent jury nominates one short film from their competition. We’ll be screening all the nominated films, and the winner, over three programmes. Part Two includes the BAFTA winning animation EDMOND.

Our monthly Short Film City Hull programme showcases the best of short films from around the world. We know that short film is not always the first thing that comes to mind for a night out so to encourage you to give this under appreciated format a try we run these nights on a pay-what-you-want basis. The recommended price is £4 but you can choose whatever you feel is right.
7:00pm: Doors open. Why not grab a drink from Fruit’s bar and settle in for the film? Fruit has a selection of over 50 beers, including world lagers, ales, bitters, stouts and ciders as well as a range of craft, trappist, abbey and wheat beers. They also offer wines, hand pulled ales, tea & coffee, spirits and bar snacks.
7.30pm: Programme starts. There will be at least one interval.
9.20pm: Programme ends. Post-screening we’ll be having a drink in the bar and would love for you to join us and chat about the films.
The programme run time includes an allowance for introductions and trailers. This may vary and in some cases the film will begin immediately after a short introduction. While we will endeavour to accommodate latecomers, this may not always be possible. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse entry, without a refund, to anyone arriving after the advertised programme start time.
